Registration is still open for the 3-hour technical session to be held prior to the annual Louisville ASHRAE Golf Outing on Monday, May 10th. The event will be held both virtually and in-person.

Topic: VRF Controls Overview

Remote Controllers, Touchscreens, Simple Stats – there are many options when it comes to controlling a VRF system.
Central Controllers that allow for BMS integration or stand-alone building control can be implemented from the smallest systems to the largest.
The ability to bring in lighting, access control, RTUs, Chillers, DOAS, and much more is now common with most manufacturers.

Industrial facilities present significant facility services design challenges.  Resource consumption, usage, and discharge are significant.  Project fundamentals are driven by process need and speed, not form response.  This program identifies how green and sustainable themes can be incorporated into industrial design, construction, and operation.  Content covers the following topics:

Differentiate between integrated and conventional design methodology
Understand scale and scalability
Identify industrial sector project fundamentals
Identify “Green” solutions for industrial scale projects
Assemble an IBD work team

Building EQ: Powered by ASHRAE


ASHRAE's Building EQ Portal provides a quick energy analysis that benchmarks a building's energy performance. Building EQ assists in the preparation of an ASHRAE Level 1 Energy Audit to identify means to improve a building's energy performance including low-cost, no-cost energy efficiency measures and an Indoor Environmental Quality survey with recorded measurements to provide additional information to assess a building's performance.

Two different evaluations can be used independently to compare a candidate building to other similar buildings in the same climate zone or together for an assessment of a building's design potential compared to actual operation:

In Operation compares actual building energy use based on metered energy information.

As Designed compares potential energy use based on the building's physical characteristics and systems with standardized energy use simulation.
